Will You LEED The Way?
by Katie Rotella
March 14, 2008

We recently viewed an online seminar from the Mechanical Contractors Association (MCA, Chicago) that asked, "What would you do if your customer asked if you're a 'green' contractor?" Webinar speaker Dan Bulley, LEED AP, offered some tips on how mechanical contractors can be greener.

First, he advises to take green jobs. "Right now, people aren't expected to be experts ― yet. But a few years from now that will change, so take green jobs now."

Next, join the U.S. Green Building Council, both nationally and locally. The organization gives you access to plenty of resources and guidance.

Finally, Bulley encourages industry professionals to get their LEED AP ― the highest credential in green building. "Getting this will really show your customers and employees that you're serious about green building."
